I deeply appreciate Jim's writing with such a multi-faith sensitivity. This response is really for Christians who read this.

Jim's focus on the plural "you" -- that God calls communities as well as individuals -- reminded me that I really need to read John Dominic Crossan's "Resurrecting Easter." In this book Dom and Sarah Crossan (they're married) argue that the resurrection in Eastern Christianity is communal and collective, something quite different from the solitary depiction of the resurrection in Western Christianity. Christian pastors looking for a way to bring the climate crisis into your Easter (whether Easter Day or Easter Season) preaching might want to connect the plural salvation of the early church (that has been kept alive by Eastern Christianity) with the plural vocation of the church today. It seems to me that addressing the climate crisis is all about salvation.

FYI, Dom reports (via Facebook) that the hardcover book version is permanently out of print—because its necessarily high price (amazing full color reproductions of Easter Christian art) and unfortunately low sale. However, the Kindle version is still available and Dom reports it has superb in hi-res full color.
